Responsibilities include:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, treasury, budgeting, and more.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports or statements, identifying variances and making recommendations for improvement.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to maintain compliance and accuracy.
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure objectives are met and deadlines are adhered to.
- Support the Controller in managing banking operations and maintaining internal controls over cash disbursements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
What you need to succeed:
- 5-7 years of general accounting experience, with CPA certification being a plus.
- Ability to navigate through complex problems and build solutions, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, with proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Dynamics, or Rent Manager being advantageous.
- Experience managing direct reports, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proven track record of meeting financial accounting objectives and driving process improvements.
- Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
