Accountant - Job Costing & Payroll
trak group is partnering with a leading employee-owned construction firm in Mason, OH to hire an Accountant who can take ownership of job costing, payroll, and core accounting functions. This is a full-time onsite role with excellent flexibility and strong benefits, ideal for someone with a passion for numbers, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.

trak group is partnering with a leading employee-owned construction firm in Mason, OH to hire an Accountant who can take ownership of job costing, payroll, and core accounting functions. This is a full-time onsite role with excellent flexibility and strong benefits, ideal for someone with a passion for numbers, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.

- Perform job costing analysis and maintain general ledger accuracy through timely journal entries.
- Lead monthly close processes including reconciliations, reporting, and cash management.
- Manage payroll reporting and tax filings in collaboration with HR.
- Prepare and submit a variety of state and local tax filings (Sales Tax, Ohio CAT, etc.).
- Review and submit union payroll data, benefits contributions, and process layoff checks.
- Suggest process improvements and help develop accounting policies as the company grows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- 2+ years of accounting experience with direct job costing involvement.
- Payroll processing or reporting experience—construction industry highly preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong Excel skills and a proactive, collaborative work style.
- Comfort juggling multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced but balanced workweek.
