Job Description
Accountant / Payroll Specialist
Take ownership of payroll and accounting in a role where accuracy, consistency, and trust matter. Trak group is seeking an Accountant / Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations while supporting key accounting functions in a stable, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll and manage payroll tax filings, payments, and year-end reporting (W-2s)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Support monthly close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate records, support audits, and resolve discrepancies across payroll and financial data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, taxes, and compliance requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
