Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance

trak group is hiring an experienced finance leader to oversee financial strategy, compliance, and operational excellence for a mission-driven organization in the affordable housing and community development space. What You’ll Do
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury functions.
  • Supervise 4 direct and 14–15 indirect reports across multiple finance and accounting teams.
  • Oversee internal controls, financial reporting systems, and compliance across several organizational entities.
  • Prepare enterprise-level financial statements and ensure audit readiness.
  • Act as a liaison for development and construction initiatives, providing financial insight and structure.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledgers while establishing systems for new business units or properties.
  • Ensure integrity in reporting and controls through policy development and SOP implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to align financial operations with strategic goals.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • CPA certification highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of financial management experience, with at least 10 years leading professional finance teams.
  • Deep knowledge of public sector or government accounting, including federal grants and HUD funding.
  • Experience with financial modeling for development projects and familiarity with tools like Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and public/private funding sources.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • High level of comfort working in a dynamic, mission-oriented environment with a diverse team.
  • Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

Location: 100% onsite in Cincinnati, OH
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday
