- Engage directly with Engineering on innovative projects
- Lead cost reduction initiatives to ensure competitive pricing
- Manage supplier relationships and performance to maintain quality and efficiency
- Source parts for new product development, product adjustments, and supplier changes
- Collaborate with Engineering on NPD projects and ensure a competitive bidding process
- Work on cost reduction projects, manage pricing in the MRP system, and oversee supplier relationships
- Analyze supplier performance data and communicate results, working with suppliers to enhance performance
- Provide forecasting to suppliers and take action on monthly PPV reports
- Help set up and improve VMI/Kanban and consignment programs
- Support the plant with returns, debits, and reducing excess inventory
- Assist in managing freight costs, launching new programs, and rectifying invoice variances with suppliers
- Handle MRO contracts and quote projects for the plants
- Complete necessary certifications and assist in continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s Degree or three years of experience in purchasing, preferably in manufacturing
- Extensive experience with MRP systems and data analysis for effective negotiation
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and continuous improvement skills
- Experience with Kanban and VMI programs is preferred
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence others to achieve goals
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
