Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain electrical standards for Steel Division facilities.
  • Communicate standards to contractors and TAI personnel, ensuring compliance during electrical installation and repair.
  • Review and approve drawings for new equipment and facilities.
  • Update and archive electrical prints, PLC programs, and operator interface software for production projects.
  • Undertake electrical and mechanical PPM, inspection testing, commissioning, and basic repairs.
  • Implement modifications to existing controls for improved process control, reliability, safety, and OSHA compliance.
  • Assist in designing electrical preventative maintenance programs and troubleshoot electrical problems.
  • Contribute to the development and performance of nondestructive testing.
What you need to succeed:
  • Education/Experience: Four-year degree from a college or technical school; or three years related experience and training; or equivalent combination. Preferred experience in Steel processing and robotics.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual English Japanese required. Ability to read, interpret, and effectively present information to diverse audiences.
  • Technical Proficiency: Detailed knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, PLC’s, PC’s, mainframe computers, machine operation, and mechanical/hydraulic components.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in various personal computer software (Microsoft Windows, etc.).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, sit, walk, handle objects, climb, balance, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required.
  • Work Environment: Moderate noise level, safety equipment required for warehouse floor work.
