Responsibilities include:
  • Complete and maintain accurate and compliant client files in On-base or equivalent software, including verifications, eligibility, denial, etc.
  • Maintain site-based waiting lists for the entire agency, archive wait lists monthly, and ensure eligible clients are available, which includes scheduling appointments.
  • Maintain appropriate and accurate notation within the system regarding client status.
  • Obtain and verify family composition and employment income, including collecting and reviewing birth certificates, marriage licenses, social security cards, check stubs, and other necessary documentation.
  • Obtain criminal backgrounds checks as required.
  • Accurately and timely input data into the system.
  • Compute rents by entering the income amount on the system to allow the system to automatically calculate the rent along with the deductions.
  • Represent company in hearings if the supervisor is out of the office on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with the annual purge of the waiting list.
  • Assist site staff with hard-to-lease units.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:
  • Customer service skills: Experience working with a dependent population and managing day-to-day screening operations for applicants for HUD assistance for their living arrangements, including managing waitlists and delivering news about denial or acceptance of housing assistance.
  • Highly organized: Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment, scheduling meetings, and documenting information in the system accurately and compliantly.
  • Ability to quickly learn: Understand and explain rent determinations.
  • Conflict resolution: Ability to deal with conflict in a professional manner.
