LEAN Engineer

Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | Mon-Fri 7/8a-4/5p

Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Monroe, Ohio that’s expanding its Manufacturing team. 
Position Summary
We are seeking a LEAN Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance operational efficiency across manufacturing operations. This role partners with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, eliminate waste, and support a culture of operational excellence using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Toyota Production System (TPS) principles. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and passionate about driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement practical solutions to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data, including cycle time, takt time, throughput, and other key performance metrics.

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to improve processes and eliminate waste.

  • Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, visual management tools, and 5S workplace organization standards.

  • Train, coach, and mentor employees on Lean principles, continuous improvement tools, and best practices.

  • Support the implementation and sustainability of process improvements to ensure long-term operational success.

  • Participate in value stream mapping, time studies, and other process improvement activities to optimize manufacturing performance.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering field, or equivalent experience.

  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or another process improvement methodology preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

  • Previous manufacturing or process improvement experience, including internships, preferred.

  • Familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS) principles preferred.

  • Experience with continuous improvement tools such as value stream mapping, time studies, and 5S preferred.
