Lead Design Engineer

Responsibilities include:

Manage, train and coach employees within the Design department.
Make hiring, termination, and personnel decisions for employees within department as necessary.
Track progress of design/drawing projects in the design queue
Allocate workload to other designers and draftsman.
Perform engineering/design work on projects as workflow and necessity dictates.
Assess delivery times for completed projects and advise if delivery times exceed company standards.
Assess manpower needs for completing design/drawing projects and advise if contacted or additional personnel are necessary.
Review current and new products and lines to assure company is staying current with technology

What you need to succeed:

Minimum associate degree in engineering or related field (Bachelors Degree preferred)
Minimum of five years of professional experience.
Must have NICET II certification in fire alarm, with goal to achieve level 3 within 18 months and level 4 within 36 months
Must have high level of experience using AutoCAD computer assisted design software.
Knowledge using BLUEBEAM software preferred.
Must have knowledge of BIM (Building Information Management) requirements.
Must have knowledge of IP networks, functionality, and implementation.
Experience in commercial, industrial, and institutional fire alarm, special hazards suppression, intrusion, access control, and closed-circuit television systems, equipment, and applications.
High Knowledge of state and local building codes.
Must be self-motivated; able to perform with little supervision.
Excellent computer skills
