Responsibilities include:
- Assist the physician in the examination and treatment of patients.
- Interview patients and measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Record patient information on charts and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
- Perform patient-related duties, medical record maintenance/documentation, and safety/environmental tasks.
- Support physicians and clinical staff, skillfully performing tests and obtaining specimens.
- Maintain high efficiency, organization, and time management to promote efficiency in the Medical Center.
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and phone skills with courtesy and respect towards patients and team members.
- Notify appropriate team members of abnormal test results or emergent situations.
- Accurately document patient care in charts and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general appearance of exam rooms, supply areas, and the nurse's station.
- Dispose of contaminated equipment and supplies according to infection control guidelines.
What you need to succeed:
- Licensed Practical Nursing license in good standing.
- High School Degree.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
- Up to 1 year of experience in a physician’s office or related setting.
- Skills in EKG, injections, venipuncture, and performing common lab tests according to established guidelines.
- Willingness to learn and be teachable.
- Team player attitude.
