Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse – Rheumatology – Montgomery

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist the physician in the examination and treatment of patients.
  • Interview patients and measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Record patient information on charts and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
  • Perform patient-related duties, medical record maintenance/documentation, and safety/environmental tasks.
  • Support physicians and clinical staff, skillfully performing tests and obtaining specimens.
  • Maintain high efficiency, organization, and time management to promote efficiency in the Medical Center.
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and phone skills with courtesy and respect towards patients and team members.
  • Notify appropriate team members of abnormal test results or emergent situations.
  • Accurately document patient care in charts and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and general appearance of exam rooms, supply areas, and the nurse's station.
  • Dispose of contaminated equipment and supplies according to infection control guidelines.

What you need to succeed:
  • Licensed Practical Nursing license in good standing.
  • High School Degree.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
  • Up to 1 year of experience in a physician’s office or related setting.
  • Skills in EKG, injections, venipuncture, and performing common lab tests according to established guidelines.
  • Willingness to learn and be teachable.
  • Team player attitude.
