Production Supervisor

Responsibilities include:
  • Directly manage a production line, ensuring adherence to safety, material quality, and production standards
  • Supervise and instruct 12-15 hourly bargaining unit personnel per shift
  • Enforce company and department policies, providing leadership to a steel union team
  • Lead daily and monthly safety briefings with hourly employees
  • Resolve operational problems arising from breakdowns, scheduled changes, and procedural adjustments
  • Collaborate with other departments and personnel to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintain a hands-on approach, spending 10-15% of time on paperwork/in-office and the rest on the floor with the team
  • Demonstrate proactive planning and awareness, preparing for the next shift's needs and ensuring the team is fit for duty to meet safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed:
  • Ability to work rotating swing shifts in a 24/7 facility
  • Grit and adaptability, with a preference for candidates with military experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people, ideally with experience overseeing 5-8 individuals
  • Leadership skills to effectively lead a steel union team
  • Proactive and aware, with the ability to plan and think ahead
  • Hands-on approach, comfortable spending the majority of time on the floor with the team
  • Manufacturing industry experience is essential
