Product Quality Engineer
Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | Monday–Friday, 7: 00 AM –3: 30 PM
Location: Fairfield, OH
trak group is partnering with a growing manufacturer to fill a Product Quality Engineer role on a contract-to-hire basis. This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit, family-feel team working on cutting-edge technology under strong leadership.
Responsibilities
- Support quality planning and compliance by integrating AS9100 and customer-specific requirements into quality plans, inspections, and process controls
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections including dimensional verification using precision measurement equipment
- Identify, document, and support disposition of nonconforming products and processes
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement activities
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities to ensure timely disposition and closure of nonconformance reports
- Review material certifications, inspection records, and quality documentation for compliance with purchase order and drawing requirements
- Support supplier quality activities including evaluations, corrective action requests, and performance tracking
- Assist with calibration program oversight and measurement equipment verification
- Conduct drawing and specification reviews including GD&T requirements
- Track, analyze, and report quality performance KPIs
- Serve as a liaison between the production floor and internal business functions
- Support customer quality issues and Return Material Authorization activities as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 2+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems required
- Experience with CAD systems required;Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Exposure to weldment inspections and GD&T interpretation
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Background in aerospace, defense, or capital equipment strongly preferred
- Comfortable on the production floor;ability to walk/stand for the majority of the shift
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;strong attention to detail and communication skills
