Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
- Oversee and direct a team of 5 lab professionals, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Provide hands-on support as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, implementing corrective actions promptly.
- Maintain and oversee equipment for proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and calibration.
- Ensure production functions meet GMP, GLP, and safety standards.
- Author and oversee CAPAs, investigations, and validation studies.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize production and quality compliance.
- Collaborate with Materials Management to maintain an adequate supply of lab commodities.
- Ensure accurate inventory transactions and reporting.
- Manage interdepartmental improvement projects, monitoring timelines and budgets.
- Work closely with upper management to meet production and financial goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and timely project delivery.
- Prepare detailed reports and communicate progress and concerns effectively to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, chemistry, molecular biology, or related field.
- 5+ years of laboratory experience (preferably in an FDA-regulated environment).
- 5+ years of management experience with a proven ability to lead and develop teams.
- Strong background in production planning and troubleshooting.
- Experience in scientific/manufacturing principles within GMP/GLP environments.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques, lab equipment operation, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of virology, immunology, cell and tissue culture, bacteriology, parasitology, and clinical laboratory procedures.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze processes for compliance and implement improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
