trak group is hiring a Production Manager to oversee day-to-day production and lead a team of 25–30 skilled employees. This role is responsible for meeting production, quality, and safety goals while improving processes and supporting continuous improvement across CNC machining, fabrication, and mechanical assembly operations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to meet delivery, quality, and performance goals
- Develop and manage production schedules in a job shop or mixed-production environment
- Monitor workflow, adjust schedules, and allocate labor and resources to maximize efficiency
- Supervise, mentor, and develop production team members;conduct performance reviews and support training initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications
- Investigate nonconformances and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment in compliance with safety policies
- Identify and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing and 5S principles
- Track, analyze, and report key production metrics (efficiency, scrap, on-time delivery)
- Communicate production status, challenges, and results to leadership
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in a production or assembly environment
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, fabrication, and mechanical assembly processes
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage production schedules effectively
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in a shop environment and interacting regularly with machinery
