Responsibilities include:

Negotiate costs, contracts, and policies with suppliers, representing the company's interests.
Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, and distributing materials, and supplies.
Interview, hire, and oversee staff training for purchasing department personnel.
Locate vendors, interview them, and prepare requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, raw materials, and equipment.
Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
Maintain records of goods ordered and monitor goods received, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers, ensuring smooth procurement processes.
Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Control purchasing department budgets and prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.
Arrange for disposal of surplus materials and control obsolete inventory.

What you need to succeed:

Experience in sourcing metals and rubber, including critical and niche parts.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
Willingness to engage in Tri-State travel, with approximately 25% travel expected, mostly day trips with occasional overnight stays.
Bachelor's Degree preferred or applicable experience.
