Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | Mon-Fri
Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Batavia, Ohio that’s expanding its Manufacturing team.
Purpose of Position:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter. This role is responsible for performing painting and surface preparation duties in accordance with specifications. This role requires working with various paints, solvents, and chemicals to prepare and clean surfaces, as well as applying paint evenly and without defects. The Painter/Surface Preparer must ensure that all tasks are performed to high-quality standards while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of painting techniques and safety guidelines, with the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
•Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming, ensuring they are free of contaminants and ready for coating.
•Apply paint to large equipment and surfaces using spray guns, pressure pots, or other equipment, ensuring an even coat without runs or streaks.
•Use compressed air, spray guns, pressure pots, and other tools to apply paint while ensuring the equipment is functioning properly.
•Perform regular clean-ups of paint stations and dispose of paint products in compliance with EPA and environmental safety standards.
•Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including handling hazardous materials, wearing required PPE, and maintaining a safe work environment.
•Assist with other departments or tasks as needed to support daily operations.
Specific Requirements/ Qualifications:
•Minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial painting, with proficiency in surface preparation and application techniques.
•Comfortable working in a manufacturing shop environment, with the ability to handle chemicals and perform physically demanding tasks.
•Strong understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations regarding paint and solvent handling.
•Ability to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 lbs and work in physically challenging conditions.
•Knowledge of proper clean-up and disposal procedures for painting materials in compliance with EPA regulations.
•Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
•Ability to operate spray guns, pressure pots, and other painting equipment.
•Understanding of EPA regulations and proper handling of hazardous materials.
•Strong attention to detail to ensure paint is applied evenly and surfaces are properly prepared.
•Ability to stand for extended periods, work with hands above head, and perform repetitive motions.
•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
•Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods while performing painting tasks.
•Ability to reach, bend, and kneel when preparing surfaces and applying paint.
•Must have good hand-eye coordination for using spray equipment and applying paint.
•Frequent use of hands and arms for painting tasks.
•Must have adequate vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing to safely perform tasks and operate equipment.
•This position involves working in a manufacturing shop setting, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals, requiring proper safety measures.
Education:
•High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required
