Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sr Director of Purchasing to lead and manage our purchasing department. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset with a strong background in procurement and supply chain management. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to foster relationships with vendors, and a keen eye for cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee the procurement of goods and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to achieve favorable terms.
- Analyze market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
- Lead and mentor the purchasing team, promoting professional development and performance excellence.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in purchasing and supply chain management at a senior level.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
- Analytical skills to assess and optimize purchasing processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement.
- Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain management is a plus.
