Strategic Sourcing Manager

Why you should work here:
• Negotiate best price and terms using data-driven analyses of commodities, freight, exchange rates, and other factors.
• Understand cost trends by category, region, and supplier to determine targeted areas of improvement.
• Stay current on commodity trends to determine the impact to product costs.
• Identify best suppliers for new product initiatives and customer product line reviews, working collaboratively with product and engineering teams.
• Maintain database of supplier contracts, NDAs, and other agreements, reporting on status and expirations.
• Maintain a current knowledge of company products and quality specifications.
• Address and resolve quality and pricing issues in a timely fashion to maintain continuity of supply.
• Research and locate sources for new and existing products to meet company objectives for launches, drive productivity or ensure continuity of supply.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure best quality, cost, delivery, and payment terms.
• Continually seek improved sources for materials, supplies, and services
• Identify supply risks and implement solutions to mitigate disruptions to supply.
• Maintain reports on all procurement activity, spend and provide analysis to senior management
• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement standards and provide guidance and assistance on all Procurement related policies and procedures
• Oversee all activities related to procurement of a commodity or service, from intent to purchase through delivery and acceptance
• Evaluate and deploy systems and processes to improve overall purchasing operations
What you need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management and 5-7 Years of Sourcing or Procurement related experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing and sourcing environment.
• Supply Chain experience within the steel sector preferred.
• Knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts
• Experience with logistics planning, transportation, and forecasting.
• Experience in a job shop/contract manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience in ERP/MRP system(s) highly preferred. PLEX experience a plus
• Experience in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel
• CPM Certification a plus
