Your Impact in This Role
- Direct and approve state and local tax returns for the entire enterprise, including various subsidiaries, employee benefit plans, and tax-exempt entities
- Manage compliance for all state and local tax audits across the organization
- Ensure implementation of tax legislation changes affecting company operations and products
- Review and approve tax payments
- Lead and motivate a team of tax professionals
- Coordinate with external partners, reviewing their output rather than handling detailed tax preparation
What You Bring to The Table
- CPA certification (required)
- Expertise in State and Local Tax
- Public accounting background preferred, or experience with state and local tax focus in a large company
- Ability to work effectively with external partners at respected firms
- Substantial experience preparing and managing state and local tax returns for various entity types
- In-depth understanding of GAAP, statutory, and income tax accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Proven leadership experience and ability to motivate teams
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
