Key Responsibilities
Material Handling
- Oversee receipt and inspection of materials, ensuring proper entry into the stock control system.
- Ensure safe practices in handling and storing materials.
- Accurately pick and consolidate orders, preparing them for dispatch.
- Ensure proper stacking, packaging, and wrapping of materials.
- Collaborate with sales administrators to produce dispatch documents and coordinate invoicing.
- Prepare goods and documentation for external inspections and exports.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and IFS.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, including quarterly stock counts and annual audits.
- Track materials used for training and demonstration purposes.
- Implement and enforce health and safety procedures across warehouse operations.
- Maintain and inspect lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and a hazard-free environment.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff, fostering a culture of efficiency and safety.
- Manage international freight logistics and ensure compliance with import/export legislation.
- Act as the primary contact for courier deliveries and dispatch activities.
- Contribute to record-keeping and overall business operations as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics management.
- Proficiency in computer-based stock control and dispatch systems (e.g., IFS).
- Strong knowledge of international freight and transport codes of practice.
- Physical ability to lift and handle materials safely, including experience with lifting equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in inventory management systems and data entry accuracy.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards in warehouse operations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and team members.
